Laura is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. Her love of hairdressing was apparent at an early age. She played with dolls long after other girls gave them up, just to do their hair. Instead of college, Laura chose to go to cosmetology school upon graduating from high school. Her real education, though, began when she entered the salon as a professional.
Laura's love of learning compelled her to seek out advanced education. To this day she continually strives to better her knowledge and skills through classes, workshops, and networking with other professionals. Her education has included multiple day workshops with Wella and Nick Arrojo in New York City, New York; and countless trade shows around the world, including Hair World 2000 in Berlin, Germany! Laura is a member of CHA (Curly Hair Artisty) and is a Deva Inspired Stylist, as well as a certified Head Shape Matters stylist.
A love of science pushed Laura into specializing in chemical work, predominantly hair color. She went on to educate for Goldwell, Wella, and Aveda hair color lines. She continues to seek out the best education in order to bring you the most up to date information related to hair.
Laura has a vast array of interests outside of the salon. She is a certified advanced adventure scuba diver; has been a member of the Fountain Inn Repertory Experience; and currently performs with the Niad Dance Company Student Troupe, (a wonderful group of Transnational Fusion Dancers), as well as being one half of the dance duo Serpentine Jade. Other activities that are enjoyed by Laura are reading, movies, music, cooking, and science fiction conventions.
In addition to her extracurricular activities, Laura is the lead hair and makeup artist for RedHouse Boudoir Photography www.redhouseboudoir.com/
Laura lives in Piedmont, South Carolina with her husband, two cats, and a Kenyan sand boa.
